Marimekko Funny Tote-Tasaraita

The Funny Tote bag is made of recycled nylon in the Tasaraita pattern. The lightweight bag has two sets of handles, one short and one long. The Unikko pattern piece at the front is made from upcycled cotton canvas printed in Helsinki. The raw-edged piece of fabric has the words “Kioski Marimekko” printed on it.

The bags are sewn using the whole width of the fabric, and therefore their appearance may vary. Each item is unique. The main material of this product is made of 100% recycled nylon.

When jeans started to become increasingly popular among both women and men, Annika Rimala wanted to design a collection of cotton jersey clothes to go with jeans. For all denim lovers, regardless of age, size or gender. That’s how Marimekko’s first cotton jersey collection was born. Evenly striped, expressing equality.
